World Cup Day!

Here are some great snaps of our World Cup Day on Friday. A great day was had by students and teachers alike. Outside we took penalty shots on the goals and there were some great goals scored. Inside the classroom we did lots of World Cup activities, making Netherlands flags and finger puppets. We had great fun!

Maths – Addition

This week we have started addition in maths. we use many different ways to add, using our fingers, in our heads and using numberlines. We love this pirate song which helps us to add.

We have started using the MyiMaths website in EP1 purple. This contains interactive games to help children learn.

This link is also full of fun games to help children with their addition.

The World Cup Football Festival at Varee Chiangmai School kicks off with an opening ceremony at 8.30am on Friday 20th June 2014.
The opening ceremony will be followed a penalty shoot out competition for the students in Grade 1 and Grade 2. During the morning the students in Grade 3 and Grade 4 will take part in a football tournament for both boys and girls.
After lunch the students in Grade 5 and Grade 6 will take to the pitch.
All the students have been practising hard for this event so we’re expecting some very competitive games. Family and friends are welcome to join this activity and cheer on the students.

Please bring a change of clothes for children for after the games. We do not have to wear our uniform.
We will be taking penalty kicks at the goals, so get practising! 🙂

We have been talking about The Netherlands in class and some children brought in some things about the Netherlands.
