Revision Guidelines – EP1

Here is the list of what all of the children of EP1 will need to revise, for their up coming end of year English language assessments, which will take place from Monday the 16th of February through toWednesday the 18th of February.

ENGLISH

To go over the vocabulary, grammar and key concepts in UNITS 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 of Family and Friends.

(All the necessary revision material can be found in the Family and Friends books and will also be provided as homework by the EP1 homeroom teachers.)

MATHS

Ordinal numbers from first (1st) to tenth (10th).

Column addition of Tens and Units including carrying.

Column subtraction of Tens and Units including borrowing.

Addition and Subtraction word problems.

 (All the necessary revision material can be found in your child’sMATHS notebook/ PINK workbook and will also be provided as homework by the EP1 homeroom teachers.)

SCIENCE

 To go over: FORCES, WEATHER, SOIL and THE SOLAR SYSTEM

All the necessary revision material can be found in your child’sSCIENCE notebook and will also be provided as homework by the EP1 homeroom teachers.

CAT

To go over: FLAGS, THAILAND and COUNTRIES NEXT TO THAILAND.

(All the necessary revision material can be found in your child’s CATnotebook and will also be provided as homework by the EP1 homeroom teachers.)                                          

HEALTH

To go over: FEELINGS and WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL…?

 (All the necessary revision material can be found in your child’sHEALTH notebook and will also be provided as homework by the EP1 homeroom teachers.)

SOCIAL

 To go over: CONTINENTS and OCEANS.

(All the necessary revision material can be found in your child’s SOCIAL notebook and will also be provided as homework by the EP1 homeroom teachers.)

Welcome back EP1 Purple

We are now back from our holidays and keen to continue our studies. Term 2 has a number of exciting activities to keep the students fully engaged, including; Halloween, Annual Performance, Day of Pride and Christmas.

Here are some important dates this month;

Mathayom Parent-Teacher Meeting – Saturday 18th October

Chulalongkorn Day – Thursday 23rd October (school closed)

Halloween – Friday 31st October (special activities in the afternoon)

Annual Performance – Sunday 16th November

Exam Time !

It’s exam time again! Please ensure all children practise writing and reading all the work we have covered in our notebooks. Tomorrow, Thursday, we have English, Social and Science and Friday we have Health, Maths and CAT. We have been reviewing all week. Let’s work really hard tonight and Thursday to get the best result we can. And remember… Friday evening we have a little treat after all our English exams and hard work!!  🙂

End of Term Countdown!

We have now entered the final month of Term 1 and the students at Varee Chiangmai School are going to be very busy over the coming weeks.

Here are some important dates this month.

100 Word Spelling Test Fri 12th September
EP End-of-Term Tests Thur 18th & Fri 19th September
Thai End of Term Tests Wed 24th – Fri 26th September
Last Day of Term 1 Fri 26th September

World Cup Football Festival

The World Cup Football Festival at Varee Chiangmai School kicks off with an opening ceremony at 8.30am on Friday 20th June 2014.
The opening ceremony will be followed a penalty shoot out competition for the students in Grade 1 and Grade 2. During the morning the students in Grade 3 and Grade 4 will take part in a football tournament for both boys and girls.
After lunch the students in Grade 5 and Grade 6 will take to the pitch.
All the students have been practising hard for this event so we’re expecting some very competitive games. Family and friends are welcome to join this activity and cheer on the students.

Ep1 Purple are the Netherlands. On Friday the children can dress up in orange clothing or wear the Netherlands jersey.

Please bring a change of clothes for children for after the games. We do not have to wear our uniform.
We will be taking penalty kicks at the goals, so get practising! 🙂

We have been talking about The Netherlands in class and some children brought in some things about the Netherlands.
